[Who’s blond, angry, and ranting at his Pokegear? If you guessed ‘Liquid goddamn Snake’, you get a prize.]
I do not care who all of you are, or where I am, or how I have come to be here. I do not care if I have been spirited off to a strange world or if I am hallucinating though the latter seems much more likely than the former. Bloody Stinger missiles. Such mere details are irrelevant until I have gained the knowledge of one thing, and one thing only!
[dramatic pause]
The location of one man, the one man amongst the billions of wretches filling this miserable earth whose every breath is an affront to me. The light to my darkness, the flesh of my flesh and blood of my blood, the man who casts a shadow that stretches to the end of the world! The man who stands high and secure upon an indomitable pedestal, the missing parts of my genetic legacy, who stole the birthright that should be mine! I will not rest until I find him! I will tear apart the fabric of this universe if I must!
My brother! Solid Snake!
[Protip: the prize is a rant.]

[Underneath the measured coldness of his tone, there is a sharp note of bitterness.]
I'd say the answer was obvious, but clearly you have a different one. Go ahead, humor me. Tell me about how it's more plausible that I went to another world than that I simply passed out and had a vivid dream.

[Otacon paused for a second, not entirely sure if he should've said what he was thinking.]
I'm sorry. You don't have to believe me, but...if I could have gotten you out, I would've done anything it took.

Don't you dare. Don't you dare speak to me about something that you don't know the first damned thing about. Don't you dare pity me, Emmerich!
no subject
It's not pity. If you'd j-just...shut up and listen for five minutes, maybe you'd realize that.
Ignoring for five minutes whether this is real or not, putting aside every single complete impossibility we're looking at here, I want you to stop being an idiot and just accept that someone actually gives a damn about you.

Let me be perfectly clear: you are nothing to me. You are worth nothing to me save what your hands can build. Do you understand?

And while we're at it, I'm going to make a few things clear too. One: I'm not building anything for you here, and I couldn't even if I wanted to. Two: You don't scare me. Threaten me and act as cold as you want. But you can't intimidate me.
And third: It's fine if I'm worth nothing to you, James. But I care about you, unlike everyone else that's ever been heartless enough to ignore you. If you want to act dismissive, fine. But I'm not going to turn my back on you, whether you like it or not.
Do you understand?

My, Emmerich. You are a persistent paramour, aren't you? I'm flattered. I do hope, however, that you're not trying to melt my cold, icy heart with your ardent affections, because I'm afraid I don't have one.

[It's a low blow, and he knows it.]
Am I your new Wolf, Emmerich? Will you say you love me as you help my brother shoot out my heart?
no subject
[Oh, wow. That one actually stung.]
[A lot.]
...it's not like that.

It seems very much the same to me. Did you think I didn't notice how you followed her around like one of her wolf-dogs, hoping for her to notice you? You have a knack, doctor, for dooming your unrequited loves. Quit while you're behind.
